Kelley carried out an Independent Study Project in the spring of 2004. She collected cuttings of aspen and poplar, rooted them in the greenhouse, and inoculated some with putatively mycorrhizal Tulasnella fungi. She graduated from UAF that spring and is now carrying out rare plant surveys for the US Forest Service in Washington.
