      Current Research Interests

My science interests are broadly ecological and sociological, with current primary focus on changes taking place in the natural and human environments at high latitudes and their relation to global climate change.  Plant-animal relationships, primarily through herbivory, have been a longer term emphasis of my research, as well as management of human use of fish and wildlife resources and their conservation in the North.  I continue to expand my understanding of the role of humans as components of global ecosystems and how human perspectives toward the environment change over time.  I currently serve as an ad hoc advisor to graduate students and support enhancement of science education at elementary, secondary, university, and post university levels.
