AIRLINES TO DEADHORSE/PRUDHOE
BAY
Alaska Airlines is the only major commercial carrier that services Deadhorse/Prudhoe
Bay. The
flights originate in Anchorage & Fairbanksks, Alaska. Because of tourist travel, reservations
should be
made early. The Station has a shuttle which provides transportation from Deadhorse/Prudhoe Bay to Toolik Field Station (TFS).
Alaska Airlines Flights and Toolik Taxi Schedule Summer 2008
For summer 2008 Alaska Airline Flights to Prudhoe Bay originate in Anchorage, stop over in Fairbanks, then continues on to Prudhoe Bay (SCC).
The Toolik Taxi schedule will be based on the afternoon flight this season.
AS 53 Arrives 3:30 PM Prudhoe Bay
AS 54 Departs 4:20 PM Prudhoe Bay
The taxi will leave Toolik Field Station at 10:00 AM which allows three hours of
travel time and an arrival at the Airport two hours before your flight.

If you can not book on AS 53 to Prudhoe, you can use AS 55 which arrives
at 9:00 AM. You will have to wait eight (8) hours in Prudhoe for the Taxi which will meet AS 53.
DEPARTURES YOU CAN NOT USE
AS 55 departs Prudhoe at 9:30 AM, The Toolik Taxi doe not leave until 10:00 AM
for Prudhoe. The Toolik Taxi would have to leave the station at 4:00 AM to support this flight and users on AS 54 would have to wait an additional eight (8) hours. DO NOT SCHEDULE A DEAPERTURE ON AS 55 unless you want to spend the night in Prudhoe and depart the next day.

Frontier
Flying Service operates a commuter shuttle between Anchorage/Fairbanks and Deadhorse.
They have scheduled service (3 to 5 daily flights) Monday thru Saturday. If you fly
on Frontier, you need to schedule a departure after 3:00 PM and you need to arrive before the taxi leaves Deadhorse at 4:30 PM. You will need to walk over to the Alaska Airlines terminal
to meet the taxi.
You must make a "taxi" reservation on the housing reservation form. If no one has made reservations for a pickup day,
the "taxi" will not be sent to Deadhorse. |
