The objectives of this class are to expose students to the principles related to the ecology and management of North American waterfowl and their habitats.  Laboratory exercises will focus on behavioral ecology, identification, taxonomy, sexing and aging techniques, and survey methods.  Lectures and discussions will cover behavioral ecology, reproductive ecology, population dynamics, winter ecology, harvest management, and habitat management and conservation.  Students will be evaluated based on their performance on 3 exams, a lab quiz and practical, and 2 oral presentations.
