The IAB Core Facility for Nucleic Acid Analysis invites visitors to learn about the lab, its instrumentation and services. Lab Technicians will be available to give tours and answer questions. Informational signs will be posted by all the machines. Come by to see what resources we have to offer that can help your research. Door prizes will be drawn at the end of the day.
- 13 November 2007 at 12:30pm: WRRB shared lab and Core Lab Information and Safety meeting in the WRRB lounge area on the 2nd floor. This meeting is to inform WRRB Shared Lab and Core Lab users about lab policies, hazardous waste protocols, and safety issues. We would like contact information for all new students, Post Docs and Technicians so we can make sure everyone is informed of lab news and happenings. If you cannot attend please stop by the Core Lab in WRRB 207 so we can give you handouts and get your contact information. We also want your pictures for the WRRB Photo Board. You can send contact information and photos by e-mail. Contact us
- 8 November 2007: We have updated our links page. Let us know if there is any free software or links that you find especially useful that we don't list. Also, please give us reviews of the listed programs in case you find one that is especially good or bad. This information will help other users. Thanks. Contact us
- 22 March 2007: Check out the information on the Core Lab website. Please let us know if you have any comments. We need feedback from users so we know how we can serve you better. What do you really like about the website? What would you really like to see added or changed? Contact us.
- 20 March 2007: There seems to be a rush of sequencing and fragment analysis this month. Please make sure you sign up ahead of time if you want to run samples. Also, if for some reason you have to cancel let as know ASAP so if someone else wants to run samples they can be ready in time to take advantage of the space. If you want to run 32 or fewer samples come talk to us and we may be able to fit you in between the full plates.
Note: In January and February 2007 the Core Lab processed a total of 12,472 samples on our ABI Genetic Analyzers. Three years ago this number of samples were processed in about 12 months.
Please Contact the Core lab if you have questions or comments. 474-7336, fydna@uaf.edu
