Core Lab Equipment: Molecular Devices Analyst AD

Description:

Assay development system with four modes, fluorescence, luminescence, absorbance, and Epi-absorbance. The instrument can be programmed to use either a xenon-arc lamp as a continuous light source, or a xenon flash lamp. The machine has a filter wheel that holds eight 25-mm diameter filters, has one dichroic mirror, a 50:50 beam splitter, two sets of polarizers [S (horizontal) or P (vertical) orientation], and a Fluorescence and luminescence PMT (Photomultiplier tubes).

There are seven optical measurements:

  • Fluorescence Intensity (F)
  • High Efficiency Fluorescence Polarization (HEFP)
  • Time-Resolved Fluorescence (TRF)
  • Luminescence (L)
  • Focused Luminescence (FLUM)
  • Absorbance (A)
  • Epi-Absorbance (EA)
  • Software: Criterion Host and SoftMax Pro
